The Groupement d'Intégration Scientifique en Acquisition des Langues Secondes (GIS RéAL2) brings together researchers and teachers-researchers in universities and laboratories in France whose work focuses on the acquisition of second languages.
Research into second language acquisition (RAL2) is characterized by a diversification of theoretical and methodological approaches. Thus, the objective of the network is to highlight this diversity through comparisons of results from different approaches and methodologies. In addition, the network aims to put results into language acquisition in a didactic perspective and to develop the acquisition/didactic interface. The network also aims to create a long-term database of acquired, oral and written data from past and ongoing projects, which have the corpus that is often dispersed and not accessible to the wider scientific community.
